Prusa i3 MK3.5s with Bondtech LGX Shortcut

The Bondtech LGX Shortcut Copperhead printhead is a special unit that includes the LGX Large Gears eXtruder and the LGX Shortcut Copperhead hotend with short filament path, which can handle all materials and is characterized by its softness and flexibility. The LGX extruder can of course also be used with other hotends.

Bondtech has provided a modified firmware for use with the Prusa i3 Mk3s. However, not yet for the Mk3.5s. But this could change soon, as Prusa now allows the installation of custom firmwares again without voiding the warranty. More about this here (click me)

Fortunately, you can still set up the LGX to work with the MK3.5 & MK3.5s:

First we need to open the Experimental menu on the Prusa printer. How to do this is described here.

There we now place the Esteps on 800 and the Maximum Z-height on 209mm.

However, I highly recommend an Extruder Estep calibration according to this guide to perform. According to this, I actually have 835 Esteps.

Now we have to create a PINDA offset with M851 Y12.00 set. We can currently only set this in the slicer. This is what it should look like:

Unfortunately, this cannot currently be permanently set in the printer and saved to the EEPROM with M500. After a reset, this is reset again.
